PP cotton filter / polypropylene melt-blown filter
This is the most commonly used filter element for water purifiers. The first filter element is basically this material, which is used to pre-treat tap water. It is generally fired by polyester fiber particles through hot melt spinning and other processes, non-toxic and tasteless.
There are two biggest features, one is the large filtration area, wide application, and the second is cheap. Therefore, it will be used as the first filter element to filter out sediment, suspended solids, colloids, organic matter, impurities, etc. in the water, acting as a scavenger and protecting the more expensive filter element behind.
There are also many filtration accuracy, 1μm, 3μm, 5μm, 10μm, 20μm, 30μm, 60μm, generally 1μm and 5μm commonly used.
The PP cotton filter is the first in the water purifier, so it is also the easiest to get dirty, so it is also the most frequently replaced. The general life is half a year. If the first stage filter of your water purifier is PP cotton, it is recommended to replace it once every six months. In addition, this filter element has been soaked in water for half a year, and it is also easy to breed bacteria.
Activated carbon filter
The main function of activated carbon filter in water purifier is also to absorb, remove the color, smell and residual chlorine in water, which can change the taste of water.
Activated carbon filter cores are divided into two types according to different processes. One is granular activated carbon, which is filled with granular activated carbon in the shell; the other is compressed activated carbon, which is sintered and compressed with coal-based activated carbon or coconut shell activated carbon. The former is simple and cheap. Some, the latter filtering capacity and service life will be better.
The life of activated carbon filter is generally 1-1.5 years.
RO reverse osmosis filter
RO reverse osmosis filter element has the highest filtration accuracy at present, 0.0001μm, which is claimed to be one millionth of the hair, so in addition to water molecules, other harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, etc. will basically be filtered out.
It is precisely because of the high filtration accuracy, so now the seawater desalination, astronaut wastewater recycling and treatment, medical, scientific research, beverage and other industries are basically using this purification technology.
The life of the reverse osmosis membrane filter element is generally 2 years.
Ceramic filter
The ceramic filter core is made of high-temperature sintered diatomite. Its purification principle is similar to activated carbon, but it has a relatively good filtration effect and a long life. The filtration accuracy of the ceramic filter element is generally 0.1 μm, which can filter out sediment, rust, some bacteria and parasites in the water.
The biggest benefit is the long service life. It does not need to be replaced after a period of use. It can be used after being rinsed with a brush or sanded.
Life expectancy can generally reach 3-5 years.
